A leader in the field of traditional herbalism in Canada, Clef des Champs was founded in 1978 by the herbalist Marie Provost to answer the need for quality organic plants and extracts. Today we cultivate a series of organic gardens and harvest the plant materials required to manufacture our extracts. Over the years, we have developed a dynamic and prosperous herb company. |

Clef des Champs is a community of herbalists who are passionate about their art and who believe strongly in organic agriculture. We are involved in our community and those elsewhere by our support of fairtrade practices. Over the years we have developed a range of more than 500 products based on organic plants.
Our extracts (medicinal tinctures, glycerites, oils, salves and vinegars) are all brewed with fresh plants from our own organic gardens. Harvested daily during our short summer and immediately transformed, our plants are macerated in quality solvents so as to create truly traditional herbalist’s products.
Our medicinal teas, spices and organic teas all come from producers of organic plants elsewhere. Some of them are local people while others, in the four corners of the globe, produce herbs and spices that are more capricious and exotic; all of them take organic agriculture very much to heart, by respecting the earth and producing plants of high quality.
Our mission is clear: to produce medicinal extracts and plants that can truly heal, to offer culinary herbs and spices of exceptional quality and to satisfy the most delicate palates with organic teas of exquisite fragrance. And to do all that with a passion that is constantly being renewed.

Founded 30 years ago by Marie Provost in a corner of her kitchen at home, today Clef des Champs is a prosperous company which has brought together a joyous team of herbalists and gardeners. Each summer, a team of more than 35 can be found cultivating, harvesting, transforming, bottling and distributing the medicinal plants, herbs, teas and spices, all certified organic.
In the gardens Dominique, Gaétan, Cécile, Julie and Éric cultivate the plants under the ever-attentive eye of Patrick; Marie J and Dominique look after the harvesting whilst Catherine and Anaïs welcome visitors to the site. In our workshop, Rose-Marie, Marie-Soleil, Constance, Yves, Nathalie, Lili, Chantale, Brigitte, Danielle and Marie-Josée are responsible for production; Sylvie, Chantal, Catherine and Maryse are taking charge of customer service; Linda, Geneviève, Nathalie and Muireann keep in touch with our clients; Laurence and Marie look after quality insurance and regulations; François explores the "virtual world" looking for suppliers while Thierry manages marketing and sales development and Nancy balances our budget! It's a group of very inspired people… who are committed to sharing their passion with you. |
